Without this change, pressing K while in one manpage to load another one, then pressing CTRL-O to go back, results in going to the bottom of the current (second) manpage. The autoload directory is for standard Vim autoload scripts. These are functions used by plugins and for general use. They will be loaded automatically when the function is invoked.
