Problem: Gcc error for the argument of InterlockedIncrement() and

Solution: Remove "unsigned" from the cRefCount_ declaration.
Problem: Text drawing on newer MS-Windows systems is suboptimal. Some
multi-byte characters are not displayed, even though the same font
