f9e3e09fdc patch 8.1.0743: giving error messages is not flexible 
Problem:    Giving error messages is not flexible.
Solution:   Add semsg().  Change argument from "char_u *" to "char *", also
            for msg() and get rid of most MSG macros. (Ozaki Kiichi, closes
            #3302)  Also make emsg() accept a "char *" argument.  Get rid of
            an enormous number of type casts.

Problem:    Cannot get the script line number when executing a function.
Solution:   Store the line number besides the script ID. (Ozaki Kiichi,
            closes #3362)  Also display the line number with ":verbose set".

Solution:   Make :popup work in the terminal.  Also fix that entries were
            included that don't work in the current state.

f2bd8ef2b4 patch 8.0.1564: too many #ifdefs 
Problem:    Too many #ifdefs.
Solution:   Graduate the +autocmd feature. Takes away 450 #ifdefs and
            increases code size of tiny Vim by only 40 Kbyte.

Problem:    When menus are translated they can only be found by the translated
            name.  That makes ":emenu" difficult to use.
Solution:   Store the untranslated name and use it for completion and :emenu.
