Solution:   Pass the destination length, give an error when it doesn't fit.

Solution:   When compiling the pattern with the old engine fails, restore the
            regprog of the new engine instead of leaving it NULL.

Solution:   Use "size_t" and remove type casts.  Remove alloc_check(), Vim
